Night pinky 15 min ficlet word 117

I felt the soil, damp under my fingers. The fresh rain having soaked deeply and richly all that it could touch, slithering through the smallest of cracks. Cautiously, I moved around the clay-like clumps of dirt from the sandy rich until I felt my pinky brush up against something cool and curiously smooth. After a bit of digging around the object and a final prying, I lifted out a shiny round jade green bowl. I felt the smoothness of the glaze with delight, noting the intricate pattern embossed underneath.
The rain began to fall again, this time, in light spurts, filling the bowl as it lay next to me with a tapping chime. The rain flecked my eyes as I listened, my delicate vision blurring as I let the rain slide all over me. I let my mind go and soon slipped away.
I got up hurriedly, once I realised how late it had become, feeling for the felt touch of my hood. I grasped a heavily soaked sleeve and abandoned it. I began to pace, checking that the ever so faint footpaths (made earlier from heavy steps in the mud) were laid nearby. Quickly, I scooped the bowl up, swishing the rain water so that it spilt and toppled into the wrappings of my cloak. I cast one quick, furtive glace around me before setting out on one of the treks marked by a row of wild squashed violets. I rushed, hoping they would arrive soon. Although, my doubts welled quietly inside me. Wrapping the scraps of Sarah’s shawl around me, I began to sprint, fearing the release of the night’s own.

Aesthetic Warding - 15 min ficlet

She smiled suddenly realising how awkward the situation had become. Picking up her sunglasses, she felt the ultraviolet rays seep relentlessly into her skin as she walked alone across the veranda. Waving off an irksome fly she let the pink colour fill in and over her gaze across the mountains. Tilting her glasses upwards, slightly off her face, she saw the blue sky stretch with queer abandon, and a brown bird higher than anything she had ever seen merge with the sky in a tilting arc. She smiled then with apparent wonder.
I wondered over her face, her blue-green eyes were set and curved just like Gwen’s had been, marvelling on their own the forest.
I let my own gaze drop to see the wild, dense jumble of greenery, the humid air lost from the small, artificial plateau. I felt a distinct itch on my leg and worriedly shook it. Faust turned around and looked at me oddly.
I gave a quick, awkward grin and started pacing up and down the metal railing. Soon, if we kept on standing here, time would move unknowingly until the sun dropped into an all too familiar orange orb that squeezed out its colour, painting us with its own radiance. I felt helpless. When the light did go out, the winds would come and we could move again. We were otherwise transfixed with the world as a still plain that operated on its own until a bird would alight or we would move, breaking the enchantment that kept us tied to this natural, abundant view.

specks of water

Mercurial feeling
quietly treads a moonlit strand
of thought
Gathered where the green sleeps,
With a hapless nod
And eyes unknowing
Follow an outsider’s turn.
Wind blown
but still
swelling dream
splashes cold the day light.
Water tastes fresh.
Neutral
being by the rocks.
Odd comes the echo that loosens up a memory.
Floating colour pricked til
rainbow see through - upward prompts -
Hovers over the grey looms of an olden time,
Breaks
an abiding form
As
It
Drops.

Many of these ones have a sharper version which is posted next to it, personally I like the original blurrier ones because they have a more dream-like look but the sharper ones are easier too see..
